CW should issue a formal apology to 'Charmed' fans and anyone who wasted their time watching this unprofessional and in-genuine Pilot episode of a 'reboot'. I cannot believe the writers had such distain for the original source material that they had to cheapen the entire franchise's concept of family and magic. Having to be told about their heritage rather than discovering their legacy for themselves? Replacing 'orbing' with something out of Farscape?

Using a weak Wesley-like 'Whitelighter' that doesn't willingly use his energy to heal? Recycling special effects from recent shows? Forcing blatant political stereotypes when people just want to escape from the real world for an hour? CW had the perfect sequel series served on a silver platter with the Charmed Children and original cast still at the ideal ages to be involved.

And this is what they give us? The actresses and actors involved in this project will go on to bigger and better productions because the heart and hope of this show has been staked and pulverized. Even YouTube fans of the original Charmed have outperformed with imaginative storylines and a mere fraction of the budget CW will now have to write off. I have been a long time Charmed fan and this reboot is just a joke. I was incredibly disappointed with the first episode and had to go back and watch the original just to get it out of my mind! I attempted to give it another shot like all shows with the second episode.bad idea!! The second episode is worse if that's even possible!

It's an in your face attempt at feminism.attempt being the operative word! Sad attempt and they need to just cut it before it puts a negative outlook on the original! I agree with the other reviews written. This was poorly executed! First.Unless I missed it it was never explained why Macy was given up or whatever. The way their powers work is a farce. The GOT ice demon with blue eyes was a mockery.

The entire reboot should be debooted! I don't understand why it couldn't have been Phoebe's or even Paige's children with Wyatt and Chris taking over or continuing the legacy! This was such a disrespectful, disgraceful attempt to redo a series that didn't need to be redone! I'm beyond disappointed. I mourn the part of my life that was wasted on watching this. I would not even want that time back as it would probably attempt to commit suicide out of shear horror after having been subjected to this. The only thing this show did is make me question how exactly a mentally handcapped pile of doodoo is able to write.

Please do all of humanity a favor and cut this show as soon as possible. Go back to the drawing board and do the show right this time. I award you no points and my god have mercy on your writers souls. Let me sum up the pilot episode for you like this: Men are bad, down with men. We called everything else in this episode a witch hunt, yet we know nothing about being a witch or the demon we should be fighting, LET'S GO ON A WITCH HUNT!

Male harassment is as easy as a man saying 'I didn't do it' to your face then turning around and harassing someone else in front of you aloud.You've got to be kidding me CW. This was crap pure and simple.

You wanted so bad to make a show that would appeal to the hip young generation that you made it a stupefied version of a typical network supernatural series. Pure PC, name/term dropping crap. You really messed up this one. I've seen lots of low-rated series in my life.

Some of them I enjoyed, some of them I didn't. But this is something out of this world.

Even though I like the original series, I'm not really religious about it, so my review is not related to the 'disgrace of the Charmed' category. The first few minutes: lovely show, a bit of cheesy talks and cheap CGI, but that's really fine if the story is interesting, so I keep watching. Then, within 3 next minutes a few things happens:. One of the sisters is a third-wave feminist that tries to push her opinions to people who are clearly not interested in it. Directors really want to make it clear that she is homosexual.

Professor charged for sexual abuse. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention a rape culture referenceDon't get me wrong: I think these topics are important, and it'll be absolutely fine to add them somewhere across episodes, but concentration of SJW stuff in the Pilot episode is more than concentration of the Charmed legacy in the entire series.

Who needs Leo when we can use a little bit dummy English-looking clown? If you take a closer look, in the entire episode there is only one decent man - a boyfriend of the third sister. The rest are either pathetic or evil or dummy.

And boy, that white walker. 1) The insult: I was a HUGE fan of the original 'Charmed'- I even recorded EVERY episode on dozens of VHS tapes (this was back before DVR)! In my opinion, their series finale episode 'Forever Charmed' is a prime example of a flawlessly written closer, concluding the show perfectly. Everything was neatly wrapped up, there was no need to rehash anything.

Also, why reboot a show that only ended a little more than 10 years ago and is STILL on TV, airing in syndication? However, out of morbid curiosity, I attempted to watch the ill-conceived reboot tonight. Unfortunately, I was not disappointed in my disappointment. The reboot serves only as a both obvious and pathetic attempt by the network to prove how 'woke' and diverse it is by simply recycling a previously (and RECENTLY) proven show with a PC cast. That will NEVER be a good enough reason to reboot a show and actually is an insult to the original that it is ripping off!

2) The injury: The same year as the 'Charmed' finale season, the WB/CW introduced the show's thematic successor, 'Supernatural.' The gist of both shows is predestined siblings battling unnatural evils, and it was an easy transition for 'Charmed' fans who were preparing to bid farewell to latch onto 'Supernatural.' Since then, TV Guide has begun calling 'Supernatural' the 'show that will never die.' It has been such a success for the CW that this past season they aired a backdoor pilot for a spinoff, 'Wayward Sisters.'

As great as 'Supernatural' is, they NEEDED this spinoff to finally spotlight the female characters who have been woefully neglected and/or misused in the original, and fans desperately WANTED this spinoff. However, CW execs made the incomprehensible decision to turn down 'Wayward Sisters' and instead green lit this pointless 'Charmed' reboot, a show NO ONE wanted or needed.

By choosing this useless retread over a show that already has an established, extremely loyal fan base ready and waiting for it, the network has actually hurt its own chances for a bonafide hit. In conclusion: SHAME ON YOU, CW execs for wasting one of your limited programming spots on this farce!!!! Hopefully it will be cancelled after its first 13 episodes, the network will realize the error of their ways, and replace this turkey with 'Wayward Sisters'!!

PS- We see what you're doing CW, airing an encore of the 'Charmed' pilot after this week's 'Supernatural' episode, hoping we'll stick around for it, but we're not falling for it! You are NOT going to turn 'Supernatural' fans into 'Charmed' fans because we KNOW you sacrificed 'Wayward Sisters' for this waste!! Shattered, I was so looking forward to this reboot and the casting is supremely crap, Leo's/white lighter role has been ripped from Giles in Buffy and turned into a complete catastrophe. How can producers writers & directors etc be involved in such a demoralising project that had had that scope to be another super multi season, cult and outside success. Crap crap crap. Cancel now and and get someone like me, someone with an endless imagination that can write a fun, clever, slick show that people connect with.female power at its weakest, and they're frickin witches.

What is this mess! This is not even worth a 1 star. No offense, this is the worst reboot I have ever seen! I am a big fan of the original Charmed show! I still watch the reruns daily. This new mess that the CW has now called CHARMED is a joke. This is one series I wished they had not touched.

I watched the first episode of this new CHARMED just to see if I could possibly like it. I was highly disappointed that they even put this mess on TV. Please take it off and stop disrespecting the original Charmed!!!!!

People who understand quality, and true talent (i.e. The original Charmed fans) will understand that with or without a previous Charmed, this rip off is HORRIBLE.

The actresses in the original are MUCH more entertaining and talented. And thousands (at the very LEAST) still want to see these beautiful, mature women act in a CONTINUATION of the show they carried on their hard working backs. People who don't see that this ripoff is just that, a ripoff, are in denial. This pilot was DISGUSTING, just used as bait for views of those with poor taste and no nuance. It's BADLY acted, disrespectful and low quality. It is so painfully obvious that this show is USING important issues and the name of the ONLY Charmed (1998-2006 so far.

) to suck in the unaware and oblivious. On the other hand, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (read the COMIC that the show is based off of, written in 2014 by Archie Horror, an IMPRINT of Archie Comics (BAM!). Which is the publishing company that CREATED the ORIGINAL Sabrina comics) looks AMAZING. And is not a ripoff. The man who wrote the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina comics, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, is working on the show. Yay, originality! I really did try to give the pilot episode a fair shot and to keep an open mind, but there is not one positive thing i could say about this.

Charmed Complete Series

The whole episode was a mix of poor dialougue and an overall sense of trying to hard. I appreciate the script writers trying to link back and emphasise the importance of the metoo movement and overall female empowerment, however the way they went about it just didnt work. Instead it just came across cheap and insincere. If your going to harpen back to topics and themes such as these great! But, you need to treat the storylines with respect and give it some depth and complexity or it just looks like they are just throwing it in to be relevant and hope that will generate viewers. If the rest of the episodes are this poorly written and constructed then they should just cancel the show now.

Its tough to find movies and tv shows that spend time to build up characters develop a story. We are usually thrown right into sex and violence, which is far easier to do then a well thought out character build up. Also we apparently have developed a concentration of maybe two minutes, or at least hollywood script writers have. THIS thing has a slightly different approach to sidestepping real script writing, it jumps on the media band wagon with the political overtones, which at this point has been taken way beyond what is should of been.

So the 'script' is basically already done for them, all they need to do is connect the dots. I was really looking forward to a character build up and something interesting along witchy lines, but this was not the reason this tv series was put together. I can't believe I looked forward to this tripe for several months. Tried watching it once.

Trash both times! This is soooo hollow, vapid despite trying extremely hard to be intelligent, 'fresh' and has NONE of the richness in feeling of the original Charmed.

The NEGATIVE camp in this ripoff just makes the show draaaaaag and it's quite depressing. The magic in this is stale and uninspiring. Acting in the ripoff makes me cringe so hard. The original had a richness, depth, warmth, humor that was actually funny, MAGIC, emotional maturity, GOOD campiness and TRUE feminism, such a wide range of all feelings and experiences handled with an artistic touch. None of which this ripoff has or is even capable of attaining.

Charmed has always held a sweet spot for me since I was a teenager. It is with regret I have to say thst this reboot doesn't do Charmed justice.

Here's a few of my thoughts: The cast is far too young for Charmed. Another teeny-whiny story like too many others about. Where's the build-up? Where's the mystery, the confusion about powers? The Whitelighter with lame humour just blurps everything out and the whole storytelling feels rushed. Monster CGI has gotten better since the last Charmed, but Whitelighter magic appears as bland as a flashlight in the face?!

Too bad they didn't include the original cast in the pilot. I'll watch the 2nd episode, but with a sceptic point of view.

I'm disappointed. This is what the CW gives the fans that have been begging for an original Charmed reunion?! Really!??This is absolute garbage! The CW claims they are adding a 'feminist' storyline to this show.

Yet they have a man guiding these little girls around the whole time.In the original Charmed I don't believe the sisters received a white lighter for some time they figured everything out in the beginning on their own! The 1998 pilot and this pilot does not even compare.This show is just a pathetic poor attempt by The CW to tap into the original Charmed fan base. I gave it a shot and watched the pilot episode,but this is not Charmed I really don't know what this crap is,but it doesn't deserve to use 'Charmed' as a title.

And a demon who turns their victims into smoothies?! That's the dumbest crap I have ever heard.

If I was Constance M. Burge (the original shows creator) I would sue. The CW did the original cast, crew,creator and fans real dirty with this one. I feel disrespected by The CW that they really thought they could pass this crap off as one of my favorite shows.

Needless to say I refuse to watch this crap. The reboot spits in the face of the original. This project seems more like a political statement versus a show about a family of witches. The sisters share absolutely no chemistry on camera. Shaky acting all around. Over the top about everything. It's like if someone sneezes and all three sisters would gasp and fall to the ground concerned that the germs we ejected from the nose without permission.

Don't even get me started on the baking soda thing. I fell in love-as many did-with the sassy and witty drama of the good Charmed.

This is a horrid political statement masquerading in a poorly written and terribly executed version of Charmed. This 'show' should be cancelled and The CW should issue an apology for this piece of crap. Way to ruin a legacy, congrats! Apparently it's okay for a female character to hit a male character because he expresses an opinion.

Then towards the end of the first episode when an innocent man gets stabbed by a demon, instead of the witches being concerned for him, they tell him that if he tells anyone about them being witches, it will be a 'he said, she said' situation. The show pushes feminism in your face to the max. A large part of this shows audience will surely be men, so why alienate the viewers by bashing men throughout the entire first episode.

A show can be feminist and still respect men, just as the original managed to do so well. I won't be watching again.
