Registering Services and Service Providers in MapiSvc.inf. 2 minutes to read.In this articleApplies to: Outlook 2013 Outlook 2016Installing a new provider on a system requires updating the MapiSvc.inf file to point to the new provider. Standard properties set during configuration, which include the following, inform MAPI where to find the provider's dynamic-link library (.dll):.The PRSERVICEDLLNAME is specified in the Message Service section. The PRPROVIDERDLLNAME is specified in the Service Provider section. NoteThe expectation is that you set the name of your provider's.dll (without the suffix '32'). MAPI then loads your provider by looking for it on the path. Putting a Path in MapiSvc.infMost applications install under Program Files, requiring an update to the path variable to allow MAPI providers to work.

With a few restrictions Microsoft Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013 can accommodate full paths to MAPI providers. When registering your provider in MapiSvc.inf, you could put the full path to the provider in the MAPI properties PRSERVICEDLLNAME and PRPROVIDERDLLNAME.In either property, the full path must be without the suffix '32', because MAPI continues to append that to the filename before looking for your file.

Infowars

Just installed Google App Sync, nothing works as when I try to setup a profile I get an error pop up that says 'Failed to create profile.' I looked at the existing profiles. And there is only one, and it is the active profile that the employee uses everyday. So it is not corrupt.

One thing I did notice was that the profile name contained a single quote ' which might be causing the problem. I tried renaming the profile, but still had problems.

I'm guessing that the single quote still exists internally in the profile and this is causing the Google Apps Sync to bail out.I do care about this profile as it has some e-mail that needs to be imported. I had the same problem, but none of these resolutions worked for me. In my case, I had uninstalled Office 2007 (a clean uninstall) and installed Office 2003. I also received an error trying to create an Outlook profile directly (through the Outlook wizard, not Google Apps Sync). The issue was with the instance of the mapisvc.inf file leftover from Office 2007.

To fix it, perform these steps:1. Search for and delete all instances of Mapisvc.inf (it gets recreated when you start Outlook).2. Uninstall Google Apps Sync3. Reinstall Google Apps SyncVoila - it works!
